Bacalar, Q.R. — Firemen had to help pull the driver of an overturned industrial work truck from the cab of the unit after it overturned. Highway emergency services who responded to the report of the overturned truck found the driver trapped inside. He was pinned under the steering wheel.
The incident took place just before midnight on a darkened section of the Bacalar federal highway. The driver lost control of the truck, which was transporting a load of rebar.
Due to the weight of the unit, tow trucks had to be called in to upright the truck before the driver could be removed. Personnel from the Rino Rescue Group and National Guard were part of the rescue team.
The driver was finally freed from his trapped cabin after being pinned by the steering wheel. His medical condition is not known.
