Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The passenger of a Playa del Carmen taxi was injured after the cab was hit by a police truck. The accident happened in the Ejido neighborhood around 10:00 p.m. Thursday.
The two vehicles collided on 11 South Avenue with 70th Street where the taxi was pushed onto the property of a condominium complex. According to preliminary information, the driver of the police unit failed to stop at a marked intersection.
When going through, the truck t-boned the taxi. The female passenger inside the taxi was transferred to hospital with minor injuries. Two tow trucks arrived to remove the crumpled vehicles from the condominium complex.
