Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Municipal Police have arrested four they say are possibly related to drug trafficking. The four were arrested in possession of a firearm, cartridges and various doses of methamphetamine and cocaine from the Colosio neighborhood Thursday.
After attending to a citizen who reported four people offering drugs and threatening him with what looked like a firearm, police moved to 25th Avenue where they located the four men.
Upon noticing the presence police, all four scattered and boarded three parked cars, two of which were Playa cel Carmen taxis. The vehicles were intercepted by police and all four men inspected.
In a Seguridad Pública Solidaridad (SSP) report, the cars used to flee were a “Versa, Beat and Attitude, two of which were marked as taxis with the economic numbers 800 and 1100.”
The detained have been identified as 52-year-old Rodrigo “N” from Guerrero, Daniel “N”, 29 and Maurilio “N”, 41 both from Quintana Roo and Heriberto “N”, 40 and from Querétaro.
Between them police located 60 packages of methamphetamine and 11 of cocaine. Heriberto “N” was found carrying a firearm and 26 22-millimeter caliber cartridges.
