Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A taxi driver was taken to hospital Thursday night after rolling his cab outside Playa del Carmen. Firemen were called in when the driver of the taxi was found trapped inside his cab of the severely crumpled taxi.
The driver told police that he rolled his car after swerving to miss a pedestrian who was trying to cross the highway at night. The unnamed driver was taken to hospital for medical attention due to injuries sustained.
In an attempt to avoid hitting the pedestrian, his cab ended up rolling. It finally came to a stop against a metal pole. The accident happened south of Playa del Carmen along the Federal 307 near a popular theme park.
