Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Solidaridad Municipal Police arrested a subject accused of injuring a person with a machete to allegedly steal a bicycle. The incident took place in the Colosio neighborhood of Playa del Carmen Tuesday.
According to the police report, officers were patrolling 66th Street with 45th Avenue when they were flagged down by a woman with a hand injury. “While interviewing her, she said that a subject who was fleeing at that moment tried to take her bicycle from her by attacking her with a machete.”
Police were able to locate the man they have identified as 24-year-old José “N” from Tabasco. He was arrested for being in possession of a machete. Police could pursue further charges, but only if the woman files an official complaint.
