Tabasco suspect wanted in disappearance of 12 year old girl arrested in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man wanted in Tabasco for commercial robberies and the abduction of a 12 year old girl was arrested in Playa del Carmen. On Tuesday, 32-year-old Gerardo “N” from Tabasco, was taken into police custody from a public street.

According to a Solidaridad police, Gerardo “N” was picked up on an Amber Alert missing person’s report of a minor girl. In a statement, Seguridad Pública y Tránsito Solidaridad reported “Municipal Police arrested a subject related to the Amber Alert of a missing minor in the state of Tabasco. He is believed related to crimes of a sexual nature as well as commercial robberies in Playa del Carmen.

“Gerardo “N”, 32 years old from Tabasco, was arrested by elements of the Preventive Police on Jacinto Pat Avenue and Arco Vial after physically and verbally attacking the officers who were carrying out surveillance patrols in the area.

“The detainee is related to an Amber Alert issued by the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Tabasco for missing 12-year-old minor Brithany Naomy Ruiz Contreras, who disappeared on August 17 after being last seen with the now detained man.

“The subject, who could also be related to crimes such as sexual assault and commercial robbery, was placed at the disposal of the State Attorney General’s Office for the pertinent investigations.”
