Tabasco prison escapee served warrant in Playa del Carmen for rape

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A Tabasco man with a history of escaping prison has been arrested in Playa del Carmen. On Sunday, Solidaridad officers served an arrest warrant on Gerardo Daniel “N” for rape.

According to a public statement, he was wanted for the rape of a minor of a Tabasco girl reported missing since September 12. Since his arrest, authorities have also investigated him for commercial robberies in both Cancun and Playa del Carmen.

Authorities have pointed out that Gerardo Daniel “N” has a history of escaping from the Social Reintegration Center of Macuspana, Tabasco, where he was imprisoned for a violent robbery.

In a statement from the State Attorney General’s Office, Gerardo Daniel “N” was taken into custody “for his probable participation in the crime of rape to the detriment of a minor victim who has an Amber Alert missing persons report in the state of Tabasco.”

Gerardo Daniel “N” was arrested by Municipal Officers while driving a vehicle, “apparently in a state of intoxication,” in which he was also with the missing minor. After his arrest, he was taken to the FGE of Quintana Roo for processing and was subsequently transferred to the Social Reintegration Center of Solidaridad.
