Playa del Carmen, Q. R. — Solidaridad Tourist Police were part of the arresting team of a fleeing man on Fifth Avenue. On Thursday, police with assistance from the National Guard made the arrest of the man from the tourist area of Playa del Carmen.
He was taken into custody after a foot chase when he ran at the sight of police. Officers were patrolling Fifth Avenue when he was seen interacting with other people and ran at the sight of police.
During the chase, 29-year-old Fredy N from Tabasco tossed an object on the ground. Fredy N was caught and inspected at which time, police found cocaine powder, crack, crystal and a gun magazine on his person. The object he tossed was a bag of marijuana.
He was taken into custody from 12th Avenue and 10th Street.
