Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Police in Veracruz have arrested a man wanted in connection with a double Playa del Carmen murder. On Monday, Pablo “N” was returned to the municipality of Solidaridad after being picked up on an outstanding arrest warrant in the neighboring state.
Elements of the Investigative Police, in collaboration with their counterparts from the state of Veracruz, executed an arrest warrant against Pablo “N” for his alleged participation in events possibly constituting the crime of qualified homicide against two male persons and attempted homicide against a third victim, local police said.
Pablo “N” is accused of killing two people and injuring a third during a dispute over land. The land dispute happened on September 15, 2024 on Benito Juárez Avenue in west Playa del Carmen.
During the dispute, one man was shot and killed. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The second man was shot and rushed to hospital where he later died. A third person, a passing pedestrian, was hit by one of the bullets, treated and later released.
Police say Pablo “N” was located and captured in the municipality of Aztlán, in the state of Veracruz and transferred back to Quintana Roo to face two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.
