Suspect charged with drug dealing now to stand trial for Playa del Carmen murder

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man arrested and since charged with drug offenses is now facing murder charges. The State Attorney General (FGE) says that Dassaet “N” will stand trial for “events that could be constitutive of the crime of qualified homicide.”

The first connection to him was made after his arrest on 80 North Street in the Ejidal neighborhood of Playa del Carmen. He was taken into police custody along with a woman for drug dealing.

While in custody, he was investigated for the shooting death of a man that happened on May 9 in west Playa del Carmen.

“The events for which he is now accused occurred on May 9 of the current year, when the victim, a male, was standing in front of a store located on 34th Street between 90 and 95 in the El Pedregal neighborhood. Three subjects arrived in a taxi from where they shot him repeatedly,” the FGE reported.

A judge has ordered Dassaet “N” to stand trial for second time, this time for his alleged relationship in the crime of aggravated homicide.
