Suspect charged for shooting death in child custody dispute

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Alejandro “N” has been charged with aggravated homicide in the shooting death of a local PDC resident. According to authorities, on April 10 of 2024, he shot his victim in the head over a child custody dispute.

Investigate Police say Alejandro “N” is also believed to be a drug dealer and hitman.

“According to the investigation by the Investigative Police, the murder was allegedly motivated by custody disputes over his children, and he is also allegedly a drug dealer and hitman,” the State Attorney General (FGE) said.

“The defendant is identified as Alejandro “N.” The events under investigation occurred on the morning of April 10, 2024, when he was riding a motorcycle with another suspect and arrived at the victim’s home.

“At that moment, the man accompanying him got off of the vehicle and went to where the victim was. He allegedly shot him in the head with a firearm, causing injuries that led to his death. He then got back on the motorcycle and fled.”

The judge ruled for Alejandro “N” to be placed under the precautionary measure of preventive detention for a period of one year or the duration of the process.
