Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A suspect accused of the November 6 murder of a Playa del Carmen man has been charged. In a press release, the State Attorney General’s Office reported on the charges laid against José “P” “for his probable participation in the crime of homicide against a victim of reserved identity.”
According to the FGE, “the events occurred on November 6 of this year when the victim had a discussion with the defendant and two other people. At one point, the three subjects attacked the now-deceased, who managed to call the police before being knocked down, hitting the back of his neck.
“When the law enforcement officers arrived and realized the seriousness of the victim’s injuries, they requested an ambulance to take him to a hospital where he lost his life shortly after.”
A Cancun judge has imposed precautionary preventive detention on José “P” for the duration of his legal process.
