Summer holidays brings increase in ferry passenger travelers to Cancun, Riviera Maya

Cozumel, Q.R. — Nearly 800,000 passengers used the two main ferry crossings during the month of July. In a statement, the general director of the Comprehensive Port Administration of Quintana Roo (APIQROO), Alicia Ricalde Magaña highlighted that the summer holidays generated great passenger traffic in the maritime terminals.

She said that on the Cozumel-Playa del Carmen route, July closed with the movement of 312,738 passengers, a figure higher than the 239,707 registered at the end of June, representing an increase of more than 30 percent.

Passengers using the Isla Mujeres and Puerto Juárez ferry service totaled 478,432 for the month of July, a 24 percent increase over the previous month of 384,541 passengers.
