Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Substantial material damage and one in hospital was the result of an out-of-control vehicle that slammed into a Playa del Carmen Pemex gas station. On Thursday, the driver of a Jeep lost control as he was traveling near Arco Vial.
The male driver was driving along Playa del Carmen Boulevard, and upon reaching 115th Avenue, hit uneven ground, causing the vehicle to spin out of control. The Jeep veered off the road and into a Pemex gas station, where it came to rest.
Both the vehicle and the gas station suffered substantial damage. Responding police had to call in firefighters to free the driver with the jaws of live since he was found trapped inside. The driver was taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries. His passenger received only minor abrasions.
