Stepfather arrested for hospitalizing boy for walking dog without permission

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The stepfather of a minor has been arrested for attempted murder. He was taken into custody after putting the boy in hospital for walking the dog without his permission.

The incident happened earlier this week when he was taken to a Playa del Carmen hospital after being attacked with a metal pipe. The boy remains in hospital.

Attorney General Raciel López Salazar said Javier “N” remains in custody “for events that occurred on November 18 of this year in a home on Avenida Norte in the Ejidal neighborhood where he hit a male minor, in addition to locking the entire family in the house, without allowing them to leave.

“After this, he took some personal items and fled the scene, while the child was hospitalized.”

Javier “N” was taken into custody on arrest warrant “for his probable participation in the crimes of attempted homicide against a minor and domestic violence,” he said.
