Cancun, Q.R. — Members of the Tourism Promotion Council of Quintana Roo are heading to key areas of the United States this week to participate in meetings on security, sargassum and business strategies.
Darío Flota Ocampo, head of the state council, reported that this week they will travel to the United States to hold meetings with airline representatives in the cities of Chicago, Atlanta and New York where they will discuss business strategies and their vision of the state’s tourist destinations.
He says also on the discussion agenda are the state’s improved security strategies to correct the country’s media publications who have been publishing incorrect information regarding a supposed security crisis in Quintana Roo.
Fleet Ocampo said that also during the meetings they intend to point out that not all state beaches have been invaded by sargassum.
“We continue to provide reasons why Quintana Roo is the ideal destination for vacations, so we will be touring the United States where we will be holding talks with airline representatives to listen and share, but mainly correct some of the news on topics such as safety and sargasso,” he said.
“One of the main objectives of these types of meetings is to publicize all our tourist destinations in Quintana Roo, show the natural beauty of places like Mahahual, Bacalar and Islas Mujeres. That’s why these types of meetings are important,” he commented.
