Holbox, Q.R. — The government of the state of Quintana Roo says they are investing more than 9 million peso into improvements for the island of Holbox.
Governor Carlos Joaquín says that just over 9.4 million peso is being invested in various areas of the island to improve its tourist image as well as benefit island residents.
The work, which is being done through the Ministry of Public Works (SEOP), includes the rehabilitation of streets and storm drainage to the pier and the replacement of streetlights in different colonies of the island.
Another project is the construction of an arcotecho dome and multipurpose court, which can be used for sports as well as festivals and events.
William Conrado Alarcón of SEOP says that they have been entrusted by the governor to improve the living conditions of the people, with an orderly growth with sustainability criteria.
