State attorney announces arrest of gang member for murder, extortion

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The State Attorney General’s Office has reported the apprehension of Geselle J.H., a relative of a local gang who they say, is accused of manslaughter. The announcement of her capture comes on the heels of her release by the Public Ministry last week.

She and three other accomplices were initially arrested Thursday in Playa del Carmen, but inexplicably released two days later by the Public Ministry. On Tuesday however, the State Attorney General Oscar Montes de Oca announced the recapture of Geselle J.H. for the crimes of manslaughter and extortion.

Last week, Geselle J.H. was detained in the Villamar I subdivision of Playa del Carmen in the company of three others identified as Maria Angelica D.H., Nayeli S.P. and Antonio M.N.

The two women are also related to her. All three, however, are said linked to El Pantera criminal activity. Geselle was transferred to Cancun on homicide and extortion charges. There was no word on the other three.
