According to early information, the police truck was hit hard from behind by a company staff bus. The driver of the bus has been accused of traveling city streets at excessive speed.

The police unit was hit when the driver began to slow down for a red light. The bus approaching from behind was unable to stop in time. The impact forced the police truck over a sidewalk.

The accident was reported to emergency services around 3:00 a.m. at the intersection of 115th and Constituyentes Avenues. Paramedics treated both officers inside, one of whom required a transfer to hospital.

Both vehicles were eventually towed to the municipal impound lot. Police have not made any comment on possible charges.
