Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Speed is being factored into a single vehicle accident that left a Playa del Carmen taxi on its roof. The Tuesday morning accident happened in the Ejido section of the city.
It was around 7:00 a.m. when police were notified of the crashed car and the fleeing of those inside. City police found the abandoned car on its roof at the intersection of 11 South Avenue and 75th Avenue.
The taxi reportedly crashed into a fence and then into the central median, before ending up flipped.
Witnesses detailed the accident to police, noting that they also saw the driver and another person flee the scene.
Officers from the Traffic Department carried out the corresponding procedures which included towing the vehicle.
