Bahía de Banderas, Nayarit — Two people were killed in a small plane crash Saturday afternoon in the town of Valle de Banderas. The only two people on board the small aircraft died after their plane crashed into a house.

Emergency services of Bahía de Banderas in the state of Nayarit rushed to the scene after 9-1-1 reports of a plane crash.
“Upon arriving at the scene, the rescue team located the aircraft embedded in the roof of the house. After a search and evaluation of the area, the bodies of two people were seen,” the Secretary of Citizen Security of Nayarit reported in an official statement Sunday.
The pilot of the Cessna 182 hit the top of a two story home. The deceased have been identified as pilot Juan Benjamín Solano Castrejón and his 20 year old passenger Indira Torres Arreola.
“Authorities from all three levels of government respond to plane crash in Bahía de Banderas. On Saturday afternoon, a report was received by the 9-1-1 emergency line informing about the impact of a plane against a two-story house on Sinaloa Street in the town of Valle de Banderas, in the municipality of Bahía de Banderas.
“Given the situation, the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, through the Nayarit Fire Department and the State Police, in coordination with federal and municipal authorities, activated an emergency operation to address the incident.

“Upon arriving at the scene, the rescue team located the aircraft embedded in the roof of the house. After a search and evaluation of the area, the bodies of two people were seen.
“As part of the security protocols, the Nayarit Fire Department carried out an inspection to rule out additional risks, including the possibility of fire or other structural damage that could compromise the safety of the residents and neighbors of the area.

“The site was secured by the competent authorities, who are carrying out the corresponding investigations to determine the causes of the accident,” the Secretaría de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana de Nayarit said.
Authorities have not provided a cause for the crash.
