Cancun, Q.R. — The first SKY Airline flight from Peru since April, landed at the Cancun International Airport on Monday. The plane left the Jorge Chávez Airport in Lima Monday and landed in Cancun about five-and-a-half hours later.
The Peruvian company had canceled operations between the two cities since April as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, government restrictions and its impact on demand.
Now that the airline has resumed flights into Cancun, SKY will continue to provide four flights a week between Lima and Cancun on Airbus A320neo. With this schedule, the airline will offer 744 weekly seats per leg.
Cancun is the second international destination for SKY Airline from the Peruvian capital. It currently operates 10 flights per week to Santiago de Chile with the same aircraft.
