Six believed responsible for abduction and killing of four in Playa del Carmen arrested

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Six people believed responsible for the murder of four men in Playa del Carmen, have been arrested. The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) reported the detainment of the six men from a green space in Villas del Sol.

In the FGE statement April 1, they said all six were arrested March 24. They are believed responsible for the kidnapping and murder of four males in Playa del Carmen. Their bodies were eventually located in an “uninhabited area”.

According to the Homicide Unit of the FGE, the men were said to have been abducted to “obtain information about the members of antagonistic criminal groups,” before they were killed and their bodies dumped.

The six now-detained were identified after an investigation that included analyzing the state’s C5 security camera system. They were taken into custody from the Villas del Sol residential subdivision of Playa del Carmen on six outstanding arrest warrants.
