Single car crash sends three to PDC hospital

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Three people were reported injured over the weekend in a single vehicle highway accident outside Playa del Carmen. Emergency vehicles were at the scene around 4:30 p.m. Saturday after reports a car hit a highway sign.

Police and paramedics arrived to find three people left with injuries inside a white Suzuki Artiga that slammed into highway infrastructure before coming to a stop near a CFE post. Impact was strong enough to have severed a front tire and rim from the vehicle.

Traffic along the federal 307 south of Playa del Carmen was slowed due to the afternoon accident. National Guard Highways attended to traffic while paramedics transferred the three from inside the car to Playa del Carmen hospitals.
