Mexico City, Mexico — President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum continues with announcements in the assembly of her cabinet. On Tuesday, Sheinbaum made two more appointment announcements.
One was the appointment of Emilia Esther Calleja who will be the first female General Director of the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE). Her second announcement was the appointment of Alex Svarch as the General Director of IMSS-Bienstar.
In a press conference Tuesday, Sheinbaum introduced Emilia Esther Calleja.
“She will be the first female General Director of CFE, with enormous capacity. She is a technician who is also very aware of the need to continue strengthening the Commission,” she said before giving Calleja Alor the floor.
Calleja Alor expressed her gratitude for the appointment calling it a “high honor” and vowing to continue “with the legacy and work of the administration that is ending, which, as we well know, rescued the CFE and defended Mexico’s energy sovereignty.
“We will continue to strengthen the 54 percent share of national generation that we have at CFE, promoting its growth, ensuring that electricity reaches all homes at affordable prices and promoting the efficient use of energy and the energy transition,” she said.
Calleja Alor is an electronic engineer from the Celaya Institute of Technology, has a master’s degree in Administration and Senior Management from the Autonomous University of Coahuila, specializing in resource management and operations in the electrical industry.
