Semi transporting frozen fish included half a ton of cocaine as cargo

Tapachula, Chiapas — A semi and trailer have been seized by authorities after an inspection revealed a half a ton of cocaine.

The Federal Prosecutor’s Office in the State of Chiapas, in coordination with the National Guard (GN), secured around half a ton of narcotics during the find in Tapachula, Chiapas.

Authorities in neighboring Chiapas made the find after an anonymous complaint. The complaint detailed a trailer transporting drugs was located in a truck hostel. Federal Ministerial Police (PFM) of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) together with elements of the GN moved to a trailer boarding house located on the Coastal Highway in Tapachula, Chiapas.

At the scene, they found the reported trailer attached to a dry box and upon inspection, the tractor-trailer was loaded with frozen fish. However, police located various plastic bags containing packages with the characteristics of cocaine.

There were no arrests. The property, the trailer and the narcotics were kept under the protection of the Federal authority while the investigation continues.
