Cuitláhuac, Veracruz — Emergency services were unable to save two vehicles involved in a fiery crash Tuesday. A semi trailer and ADO passenger bus burst into flames upon impact on a section of the Puebla-Veracruz highway Tuesday morning.

The two vehicle collision happened near the Cuitláhuac toll booth. National Guard Highways Division, along with firefighters from Cuitláhuac and Córdoba, worked for nearly two hours to extinguish both vehicles while medical personnel treated bus passengers.
According to available information, 14 people were passengers on the bus at the time of the crash. All 14 suffered only minor injuries. Some were treated for shock.
Traffic heading toward Veracruz was halted by the accident that left both lanes shut. Personnel from the Federal Highways and Roads and Bridges Division closed the lanes to prevent flames from reaching other vehicles.

The road was also closed to facilitate the arrival of emergency crews and personnel from the Cuitláhuac Regional Fire Station, who were dispatched to the scene. The highway was reopened two hours after the collision. A cause for the crash is unknown.
