Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A Playa del Carmen man accused of selling vehicles that did not belong to him has been arrested for fraud. On Thursday, the State Attorney General (FGE) reported on the arrest of Eloy “N” after being served with a warrant.
According to their investigations, “the defendant is engaged in the sale of vehicles fraudulently, since he rents them through various car rental companies in the state, to later prepare apocryphal documents and offer them (for sale) through social networks.
“The events for which Eloy “N” is accused occurred on November 5, 2021, when under deception, the accused sold a vehicle that was not his to the plaintiff. He is related to at least five other investigations for the same crime,” the FGE reported in a statement.
Eloy “N” was picked up on Jacinto Pat Street and Petempich Avenue in Playa del Carmen Thursday. He was transferred to the State Attorney General’s Office from where he was admitted to the Municipal Retention Center (prison).
