Second suspect wanted in 2020 murder of Cancun man arrested in Chihuahua

Chihuahua, Mexico — A man wanted for a murder in Cancun was arrested Tuesday in the Mexican city of Chihuahua. The FGE of the State of Chihuahua reported on the arrest of Carlos Antonio G.S., who was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant in Quintana Roo.

The Central District Prosecutor’s Office reported that elements of the State Investigation Agency executed an arrest warrant against Carlos Antonio GS, who was wanted in the state of Quintana Roo for his alleged participation in the beating death of a young man inside a Cancun hotel.

“The detainee was a fugitive from justice for his alleged involvement in the murder of a then 24-year-old man, recorded inside a hotel in Cancun on November 21, 2020,” the agency reported. The State Attorney General’s Office has already handed over the detainee to the authorities of the State of Quintana Roo to face the charges against him.

Earlier this year, another person was arrested from the the city of Delicias, Chihuahua, for his alleged involvement in the same beating death of the unidentified victim.
