Vigía Chico, Felipe Carrillo Puerto — The body of a male missing since August 31 has been located in a lagoon. The body of 21-year-old Rodrigo N was found floating in a lagoon near the town of Viga Chico in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto south of Tulum.
He was located around 8:30 a.m. Friday by a search team after his family reported him missing since 2:00 p.m. Wednesday. He was found floating in the lagoon by his father, who was part of the search team.
The unnamed lagoon is approximately 7 kilometers from the town of Vigia Chico where he lived. While he is believed to have suffered an epileptic seizure and drowned, however, an autopsy will determine the official cause of death.
