Mexico City, Mexico — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says two Mexican nationals are among the dead in the Maui wildfires.
Staff from the Consulate General of Mexico in San Francisco who are on the Hawaiian island have been in contact with the families. They have also been in contact with Mexican authorities.
Consulate General personnel have been in Maui since August 12, providing Mexican nationals with direct care including emergency passports and other identification documents lost in the raging wildfires.
The two Mexican nationals who are known to have died in the Maui wildfires are part of a growing number of dead. As of Wednesday, the death toll had reached 106.
