Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A Russian man remains jailed in Playa del Carmen after being arrested for drug possession. Egor “N” was picked up by Solidaridad Tourist Police Wednesday night after a citizen report.
The passerby reported the man to police for smoking marijuana in a public space and becoming aggressive when told not to do so.
“The events were recorded in the Centro neighborhood when Tourist Police officers were carrying out walking tours on 26th Street and a person told them that in the common area of a condominium, a subject was possibly smoking marijuana in addition to becoming aggressive toward the request not to do so.
“When approaching, the police carried out an inspection of Egor “N”, 33 years old, from Russia and seized a bag with paper wrappers and marijuana residue, one joint as well as a wrapper with what looks like cocaine,” the Seguridad Ciudadana Solidaridad (SSC) reported Thursday.
