Bacalar, Q.R. — The entrance to the town of Bacalar became the scene of a looting sensation when a produce truck overturned. The driver of the cargo truck overturned his unit Wednesday night near the entrance to the town.
Motorists who realized the overtured truck was carrying produce were quick to begin hauling it away.
Several people stopped during the darkened hours next to the overturned truck where they made off with boxes of food.
The box of the cargo truck broke open when the vehicle crashed, scattering boxes of produce around the scene of the crash.
By the time police arrived, a majority of the boxes had been looted.
State Police assited the driver while National Guard officers cordoned off the area to provide support and file the corresponding report.
Responding authorities did not say how the driver came to roll his truck.
