Residential report of armed people leads to arrest of six

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Police responding to the report of armed people outside a Playa del Carmen house arrested six. The five men and one woman were taken into custody after being found in possession of hundreds of bags of hard drugs.

Elements of the Ministry of Citizen Security and the Municipal Police of Solidaridad made the arrests in response to a 9-1-1 report of armed people Friday.

According to police, the armed group were seen at an address on Mission de María Street with Misión de Molino in the Misión del Carmen subdivision “specifically in front of house 411.”

Upon arrival, the officers, with K9 canine “Africa”, observed five males and a female who, upon seeing them, tried to enter house number 411, however, due to the prompt intervention by police, they were intercepted. Police proceeded to the corresponding review.

Police reported locating more than 400 bags of hard drugs that included crystal meth and cocaine products. Police also seized 9mm cartridges among other sized cartridges. After the arrests, authorities removed three cars and two motorcycles from the property.

During the operation, Salim Yair “N”, 25, Josiah “N”, 20, Luis Gustavo “N”, 25, all three natives of Quintana Roo were arrested along with Xitlaly Berenice “N”, 29, originally from Veracruz, Josué Macario “N”, 21, originally from Campeche and Gerardo “N”, 32, originally from Tabasco.
