Quintana Roo nominated for 21 World Travel Awards

Riviera Maya, Q.R. — The state of Quintana Roo has been nominated for 21 World Travel Awards. Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa made the announcement Monday, saying the state has been nominated for its natural beauties, beaches, hospitality, high quality services, gastronomy, air and cruise connectivity.

Lezama says that these nominations, which are also known as the “Oscar Tourism Awards”, are the result of the intense promotion carried out at international fairs to attract more visitors and more investments.

Mara Lezama highlighted that with everyone’s work, progress is being made so that the benefits of tourism are reflected in the pockets of everyone in the state.

Lezama said that the Cancun International Airport is nominated in the category of Leading Airport of Mexico and Central America, while Costa Maya Ports in Mahahual, and Cozumel are nominated for Cruise Ships.

In the leading Beach Destination in Mexico and Central America 2023, Cancun, Riviera Maya and Tulum have been nominated. For Business Trips, Cancun. For Urban Getaway Destination, Cancun and Playa del Carmen have been nominated.

For the Leading City Destination of Mexico and Central America 2023, the following participants are Cancun, Tourist Board, Cancun Convention and Visitors Bureau.

In the Island Destination, Cozumel, Holbox and Isla Mujeres and Leading Destination for Meetings and Conferences, Cancun.

In the Leading All-Inclusive Resort category in Mexico and Central America 2023, Hacienda Tres Ríos Resort, Spa & Natural Park, Hard Rock Hotel Cancún, Hyatt Zilara Cancún, Hyatt Ziva Cancún and Occidental Cozumel.

In Mexico and Central America’s Leading Beach Resort 2023, Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun, JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa, and NIZUC Resort & Spa. In the Boutique Hotel category, Casa de Playa Thompson Playa del Carmen.

In addition to nominations in the Leading Conference Hotel in Mexico and Central America 2023, in the Leading Green Hotel, in the Leading Hotel Brand in Mexico and Central America 2023, in the Leading New Hotel in Mexico and Central America, as well as in the Leading Adventure Tour Operator category in Mexico and Central America 2023.

The nominations include Leading Destination and Adventure Tourism, as well as in the Air category nominated various airlines and in the category Leading Tourism Board of Mexico and Central America 2023, the Tourism Promotion Council of Mexico.

The World Travel Awards (WTA) recognize, reward and celebrate excellence in all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry. Winners will be presented at a ceremony on the Island of Saint Lucia on August 26.

Voting for the World Travel Awards will run until July 9. Travelers can vote for the Mexico and Central America region of the nominated destinations.
