Holbox, Q.R. — State ports are on the lookout for another lost Holbox fishing boat at sea. Boat Ruth Selene left the Port of Chiquila February 9 with a scheduled return date for February 11.
The two men on board have not been seen or heard from in several days. The Port Captain of Holbox has issued a search alert for the lost fishermen since to date, their whereabouts remains unknown.
According to the search report, on board Ruth Selene is Captain Juan Carlos Chávez and Joel Pacheco. Other state ports as well as local fishermen and nautical service providers are being asked to keep a look out for the boat.
The families are offering free boat fuel to anyone who will help in the search.
It is the second time this month Holbox fishermen have gone missing. On February 7, four lobster fishermen were found alive after being lost at sea for nearly a week. They were discovered by a local vessel drifting in waters near Isla Contoy.
