Police seize Playacar property in Playa del Carmen drug bust

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A citizen report has lead police to an arrest and seizure of property in the Playacar area of Playa del Carmen. On Thursday afternoon, 22-year-old Daniel “N” from Quintana Roo, 27-year-old Yitzak “N” from the United States, 27-year-old Fernando “N” from Mexico City along with 20-year-old Santiago “N”, also from Mexico City, were arrested.

Solidaridad Police made the arrests from a Playacar complex after a citizen report tipped them off to the possibility of drug sales. Municipal officers were told of an address on Paseo Xaman Avenue where a woman was allegedly being held against her will.

As the officers approached, the four men were located outside exchanging what was believed to be narcotics. All four made a run for it, but were caught and drugs located on the men.

According to a statement from the SSP of Solidaridad, as police were making their arrests they could smell marijuana coming from a property. When they looked through the window, they saw packages of marijuana and a firearm on a table.

The FGE was notified, arriving to secure the home. According to the four males, the woman who was allegedly being held against her will left on her own moments before police arrived. The four men are facing drug and firearm charges.
