Othón P. Blanco, Q.R. — Police in the town of Cacao seized a suitcase dumped by criminals over the weekend. Inside were contents that ranged from narcotics to a grenade launcher.
The weekend incident happed in the small town when two men on a motorcycle sped away at the sight of police. In the process, one of the men dropped a suitcase that was later picked up by officers.
Inside, Municipal Police reported finding items including narcotics, a sketch of a bridge, tactical equipment and ammo. Police were patrolling along Cedro Street in the town of Cacao in the municipality of Othón P. Blanco when they “noticed a motorcycle that left unexpectedly with two men on board.
“Upon seeing the officers, they accelerated at which point they dropped a suitcase which opened completely. Meanwhile, the subjects disappeared from sight,” the SSC (Secretary of Citizen Security) reported.
The outside of the suitcase was marked with a “Halstone” label. Inside, police reported finding 105 transparent synthetic bags with dried green plant with the characteristics of marijuana, eight transparent synthetic bags with a white substance with the characteristics of cocaine and 140 transparent synthetic “ziploc” type bags with a yellow print with images of different faces with white crystalline material with the characteristics of crystal.
Also inside, police found a black tactical helmet, a notebook with the image of a bridge, a khaki-colored leg warmer, a black ballistic vest, a black cartridge belt, a black rifle sling, 16 gold-colored live rounds with the legend 5.56 mm, a brown charger with the legend cal.5.56 with 20 rounds and a black grenade launcher with the legend “AR”.
All evidence was brought before the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Quintana Roo for appropriate disclosure.
