Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Solidaridad police arrested a local man early Christmas morning after being reported for driving on the beach. Residents at Parque Fundadores in central Playa del Carmen made the 9-1-1 report around 4:00 a.m. Christmas morning.
At the scene, police were faced with an alleged intoxicated driver who had managed to get his car down the access ramp on Juarez Avenue and onto the sand. Police were able to catch up with him after his black Hyundai Atos became stuck.
Municipal Tourist Police arrived at the site and found the male driver still behind the wheel. There are reports he was found to be intoxicated.
Municipal Traffic officers also responded to the report of the car on the beach. They were responsible for arranging the removal of the man’s vehicle from the sand. A tow truck eventually hauled the car away while municipal officers arrested the driver.
