Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Police were called to the now-defunct office of DeRiMaya in central Playa del Carmen Wednesday on reports of illegal entry. Two police units arrived at the building Wednesday afternoon in response to a report that someone had broken the security seals and entered the building.
Both State and Municipal police were at the scene of the Desarrolladora de la Riviera Maya (DeRiMaya) building on Luis Donaldo Colosio Avenue in response to the report. It is not known if people were found inside the building or if any arrests were made.
The building remains shut as part of an ongoing investigation into a 250 million peso real estate fraud case. At the time of the building seizure in January of this year, authorities removed files and computers.
