Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Several police units were parked along a section of highway north of Playa del Carmen Wednesday in response to a body. Passing motorists reported seeing what appeared to be a bagged body laying in a dried area of blood.
The body was located on a highway shoulder near Punta Maroma, several kilometers north of the town of Playa del Carmen. Three Seguridad Pública Solidaridad (SSP) police units were at the scene Wednesday afternoon where officers located a black plastic bag.
Inside the bag was the tape-wrapped body of a male victim. Local authorities have not publicly commented on the finding.
