Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Police were finally able to locate a dead body that had been reported discovered Tuesday. The body was finally found Wednesday during a second search near a ranch north of Playa del Carmen.
The body was of an adult male. He was found gagged and bound by his hands and feet in a green area a few kilometers north of the city.
According to initial reports, the discovery was reported Tuesday to 9-1-1 however, it was not until Wednesday that authorities were able to find the exact location of the body.
The man was found during a second police search in an area adjacent to the federal highway just before Punta Maroma. It was found in a difficult-to-access area that has been used as an irregular settlement, which complicated the initial search efforts.
Municipal Police officers confirmed the finding and notified the State Attorney General’s Office. Paramedics were called in to confirm the man was dead.
