Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Police have arrested a Tabasco teen on charges of homicide and attempted homicide in a Playa del Carmen shooting. Police say 18 year old Juan Luis “N” remains in custody after being arrested Monday night during an operation in the city’s Bellavista neighborhood.
The Municipal Citizen Security Secretariat (SSCM) of Solidaridad says the teen is facing charges for the murder and attempted murder of people shot inside a Playa del Carmen bar Monday.
In a statement, the Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana Municipal (SSCM) of Solidaridad reported arresting “a male person for his probable participation in the crimes of homicide and attempted homicide during an operation in the Bellavista neighborhood.
“Juan Luis “N”, 18 years old, originally from the state of Tabasco, was arrested by Municipal Police officers when the red code was activated due to the report of gunshots inside a bar.
“According to eyewitnesses at the crime scene, one of the aggressors was traveling on an Italika brand motorcycle, without license plates, with a modified exhaust.

“After a search operation, the police officers arrested a person with the characteristics provided by the witnesses, so he was placed at the disposal of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Homicide for the corresponding legal purposes.”
On Monday night, one person was killed and two injured in a targeted bar shooting. At least two of the people shot were employees of the bar. Police have not announced a motive for the shooting.
