Playa del Carmen youth arrested carrying drugs, guns, tactical gear

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A subject who was armed with guns, drugs and gear was arrested by Playa del Carmen police over the weekend.

The youth was taken into police custody after a foot chase near the irregular residential colony of InHouse in the city’s extreme west. Reports say a municipal patrol was circulating on Constituyentes Avenue where they spotted the youth with an obvious bulge at his waist, giving agents the sense that he was armed.

As they approached, the youth fled, running toward the InHouse community, however, police gave chase and eventually captured the young man. On his person, police reported finding numerous items in his backpack including guns, ammunition, radios and tactical gear including a vest and a ballistic plate.

He was also found carrying 51 street doses of marijuana, six doses of cocaine and 27 street doses of crack. Playa del Carmen police reported the arrest of 20-year-old Oscar Efrén C. K. originally from Playa del Carmen. He was transferred to the Ministry of Public Security facilities for processing.
