Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A woman who reportedly resisted a mugging died after being stabbed to death. The woman was killed early Monday morning while walking in residential Colosio of Playa del Carmen.
Witnesses to the 5:15 a.m. stabbing included area residents who notified emergency services. When police arrived at the 58th Street scene, they found the woman bleeding to death from stab wounds. By the time paramedics arrived, she had died.
Residents told police that she was the victim of a mugging and refused to give up her purse. She was stabbed and left in the street while the man who robbed her, made off with her handbag.
