Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A woman was found Tuesday murdered inside her home in the Villas del Sol neighborhood of Playa del Carmen. She was found shot to death after, according to neighbor reports, men broke into her home.
The targeted shooting happened around 4:30 a.m., according to neighbors who called police after hearing gunfire. The woman was reported sleeping at the time.
Paramedics were called to the home, however, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Reports say those responsible fled on a motorcycle. There have not been any announcement of arrests or possible suspects. A motive for the deadly attack is unknown.
