Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — On Tuesday morning, a woman was found dead inside her car in the El Pedregal neighborhood of Playa del Carmen. Authorities were notified of the dead woman after area residents reported firearm detonations. They then noticed the car running, but the woman inside not moving.
When police responded to the 10:20 a.m. Emergency 911 report, they found an adult woman behind the wheel of the silver car. Her vehicle was still running and side window riddled with bullet holes.
She had been hit several times. Paramedics from the responding ambulance arrived only to pronounce the woman on scene.
It is believed she was targeted and shot at as she passed through an intersection. Her car crossed lanes of traffic along 42nd Street, which is where it eventually came to a stop. The side driver’s window had five bullet holes. Another bullet hole was located in the driver’s door and one more in the car’s outside mirror.
