Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A Playa del Carmen taxi driver was rushed to hospital in serious condition after being shot. The shooting happened Tuesday night just before midnight outside a nightclub in the northern area of the Ejidal neighborhood.
The driver was standing outside his vehicle, which was parked next to El Aventurero on 13th Avenue, when someone opened fire. He was hit at least three times in the chest.
Municipal police arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area. No arrests were made since those responsible had already fled. The man has been identified as 37-year-old José Luis N originally from Yucatán.
