Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A taxi driver was found murdered inside his unit Monday afternoon near Pamul. The incident occurred along the Paamul-Puerto Aventuras stretch of highway and was reported to emergency 911 shortly after 2:00 p.m.
The body of a male driver was found immobile inside the Lázaro Cárdenas del Río taxi. Elements of the National Guard arrived as did local police.
Preliminary reports say that around 2:00 p.m., police who were circulating in the area found the taxi parked along the highway. Inside, they saw the lifeless driver in the front seat of the vehicle. Details about the killing or an official cause of death has not been verified.
