Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A delegate of the Lázaro Cárdenas del Río taxi union crashed his vehicle on the federal highway after allegedly sideswiping a private car then fleeing.
The car, a gold Vento whose driver’s side was sideswiped, followed the marked taxi union vehicle, however, the delegate miscalculated in his attempt to flee and crashed his car into the center meridian near the union’s headquarters located a short distance from Avenue Xcalacoco.
Police and ambulance were on scene, however, they required the assistance from firemen to remove the trapped driver from his vehicle. The taxi delegate was eventually removed from his crushed car and transported to hospital.
The driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene to file a report.
